Ashton VSG Round (1999) PDF Print E-mail
Ashton VSG Rounds are a rare find and are easily recognizable by their parejo shape. These cigars were originally part of the very first release of the VSG (Virgin Sun Grown) back in 1999.

Since its debut nearly a decade ago, the Ashton VSG has been one of the most coveted cigars by tobacconists across the globe. Aficionados lucky enough to find even a few sticks often pay a premium price. This full-bodied beauty is wrapped with an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf, emits an enticing aroma, and offers flavors tasting rich to the palate. Each Ashton VSG is rolled in limited numbers at the world-renowned Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic, home to such brands as Fuente Anejo and OpusX.

These particular VSG cigars called “rounds” were among the first 50,000 sticks produced in 1999. The VSG was also the first box pressed brand the Fuentes experimented with. In the process of rolling the first batch, they quickly realized the cigars were over filled and could not be smoked when pressed. This forced Ashton to release the first 50,000 cigars in the parejo (round) shape. VSG Rounds are extremely rare and simply sought after as collectors’ items.
